Harry has confirmed he has held talks with free agent Joe Cole about a move to Tottenham. Speaking to Talksport, Redknapp revealed: I have spoken to Joe. If it's possible to get him I would like him," Redknapp told Talksport. "I think there's a good chance. Three weeks ago I didn't think it could happen. He's got lots of options, quite a few clubs want him. It won't be easy but we've got as good a chance as any." With Manchester United insisting they have no interest in signing Cole, it's thought that the fight for Cole's signature is a three-way fight between Spurs, Arsenal and AC Milan. Even Gareth Bale has urged Harry to get the signing to Joe Cole.
BELLAMY ON HARRY'S RADAR?
Tottenham want £7million-rated Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy, whose Eastlands future has been thrown in doubt by Roberto Mancini's summer spending spree. Craig Bellamy. Manager Harry Redknapp has been asked to be kept informed about Bellamy's situation following the £24m arrival of Spanish World Cup player David Silva at City.
CROAT EXPECTED TO SIGN?
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to sign Croatia goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa on a season-long loan from Spartak Moscow within the next fortnight. The 31-year-old has not travelled with Spartak to Scandinavia for a summer training camp and will instead head to London for an extensive medical before clinching a move to White Hart Lane after the squad returns for pre-season training on July 5.
DOUBLE DEAL A NO GO
Tottenham Hotspur have denied making a bid for Palermo players Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani following the Serie A club's claim to have accepted a £28.4 million offer. Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini recently claimed that the players were heading to White Hart Lane after Spurs met their asking price. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has been tracking the two players all summer and declared his interest to Palermo earlier this month, leading Zamparini to declare they would only be allowed to leave for a combined fee of £28.4 million. It also seems that Cavani would prefer a move to Italy. Cavani has said he cannot be enticed to the Premier League by Spurs and would favour a move to Juventus so he can stay in Italy.
HARRY WANT GIO TO 'KNUCKLE DOWN'
The Mexico international has struggled to settle in England after signing from Barcelona. Following loan spells at Ipswich Town and Galatasary, his career appeared to be away from White Hart Lane. Redknapp felt the lure of the nightlife has distracted the 21-year-old from matters on the pitch. But after a promising World Cup, the Tottenham manager insists Dos Santos is still in his plans. “He’s had a great World Cup. If he knuckles down this year he could be a top player. He’s a nice kid and I hope he keeps his head down and gets on with the job.”
