| Michael Dawson is in line to give boss Harry Redknapp a boost in defence by making his first appearance for three months after injury.
Dawson has not played since September because of an ankle problem but made a successful comeback for the reserves in midweek.
Younes Kaboul, however, could make his return after coming through training and will face a Late Fitness test. Luka Modric is hoping to recover from a virus to feature but midfielders Jermaine Jenas and Niko Kranjcar are both doubtful after being injured in midweek while Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart is out with a torn hamstring.
Chelsea are set to welcome back England star Frank Lampard in midfield after a three-month absence with groin and abductor injuries.
Ashley Cole, Jon Obi Mikel and Nicolas Anelka should also return after being rested in midweek but full back Jose Bosingwa misses the clash with a hamstring strain while centre back Alex is out until the New Year after undergoing knee surgery.
