Pav close to new deal

The agent of Roman Pavlyuchenko says the striker should put-pen-to-paper on a new deal with Tottenham “soon”, having held successful talks.

Having turned around his fortunes at White Hart Lane, the Russian international has now become a firm part of Harry Redknapp’s first-team plans.

The 28-year-old, a £13million signing from Spartak Moscow in 2008, was a target for Birmingham at the start of last season but is now close to extending his stay at White Hart Lane.

Pavlyuchenko’s representative, Oleg Artemov, is confident that an agreement will be reached in the near future. Artemov stated:

“Neither the coach or chairman of Tottenham want Roman to leave. We have an offer to improve his contract. We’ve been negotiating for a while and I expect a fast solution.”

Pavlyuchenko has scored eight goals so far this term and is 4.00 to be Spurs’ top Premier League goalscorer in 2010-11.

  1. Hopefully this will put a million on his price-tag and we sell him in January, because he is garbage.

My nan could put away most of the chances he gets and she’s been dead nigh on 6 years.
